词根spect,spec,speci是同源异形根，都来源于拉丁语的specere,其最早的来源可追溯到古印度的梵语 spac/spek 看，其中speci,是不定式词干；spect是specere的强调形式动词spectare的词干，它的孳生能力最强，spect中的元音e进一步弱化变形成了词根spic，c变成s就演变出了词根spis，spic,spi,spy都是spec的变形。
