词根词缀 | 词源: flame (n.) mid-14c., from Anglo-Fr. flaume, O.Fr. flamme, from L. flammula "small flame," dim. of flamma "flame," from PIE *bhleg- "to shine, flash," from base *bhel- (1) "to shine, flash, burn" (see bleach). The meaning "a sweetheart" is attested from 1640s; the figurative sense of "burning passion" was in M.E. The verb is M.E. flamen, from O.Fr. flamer; the verb sense of "unleash invective on a computer network" is from 1980s. Flamer, flaming "glaringly homosexual" are homosexual slang from 1970s, but flamer "glaringly conspicuous person or thing" (1809) and flaming "glaringly conspicuous" (1781) are much earlier in the general sense, both originally with reference to "wenches." Flaming as an intensifying adj. dates from late 19c. Flame-thrower (1917) translates Ger. flammenwerfer (1915). 词根记忆: n. 火焰,火苗;热情;光辉v.发火焰,燃烧The shameless lame man is to blame for the flaming frame.无耻的跛子应为燃烧的框架负责. 词根词缀: flame flame n 火焰flam, flagr=blaze,表示”火焰” flame n 火焰flaming a 燃烧的,热烈的(flam+ing) flamingo n 火烈鸟(flam+ing+o表名词=像火一样的鸟=火[烈]鸟) inflame v燃烧,发怒,红肿(in进入+flame=进入火=燃烧,发怒) inflammable a 易燃的,易激动的(inflame+able=进入火的) inflammatory a煽动性的(inflame+atory=让别人发怒=煽动性的) flammable a 易燃的(flame+able) nonflammable a不易燃烧的(non不+flammable=不易燃烧的) flagrant a 罪恶昭彰的,燃烧的(flagr+ant=燃烧的=罪恶像火一样烧=罪恶昭彰的) flagrancy n 罪大恶极(flagr+ancy) conflagrant a 大火的(con全部+flagr+ant=全部是火=大火) conflagration n 大火灾,战争爆发(con+flagr+ation) deflagrate v 使迅速燃烧(de加强+flagr火+ate=加强火焰) |
